Arch Company owned by Blackstone have stipulated in their future contracts that no motor trades can operate from garages which are located in the arches under the railway tracks in Camberwell.

The pictures depict the last days Mr. Weeraman in his garage in which he worked for more than 50 years. Together with his family Weeraman had to clear the mechanical equipment within just a few days. The disassembly of the hoist, which has been a symbol of the family’s time here, marks the end of an era of motor trade in a railway arch.
